Internet Load Balancing
Internet load balancing involves the effective distribution and processing and targeted communication activity spread out evenly across a computer network. This is done to meet the intent of ensuring that no single machine or device is every overwhelmed or burdened by the increase in inbound or outbound information or requests.
The Internet load balancing technology is very important within networks that make it difficult or rather impossible to predict the exact number of requests for operational information that will be directed or issued to a particular server. Most of the busy web sites typically employ more than one web server within an adopted load balancing scheme.
This is done to ensure that if one server ever begins to get swamped all the forwarded requests are re-directed towards the facility provided by the other server with equal or more capacity. The Internet load balancing technology is also applicable and used in reference to the communication channels themselves.
Dedicated Internet technology: There is a dedicated Internet load balancing technology is aimed at the Small Office or Home Office or SOHO users. The technology is perfect for application within the broadband market specifically and is even known to fit into situations where there is a need for increased bandwidth to facilitate Virtual Private Networks or VPN or the Voice over IP or VoIP. The software can also be effectively used to provide the desired resilience to the applicable Internet connection. This is achieved by the use of two independent ISP or even an ISDN backup system. The software is a full feature router or firewall application that also makes available enhanced applications such as special email alerts on link failure and URL or content filtering. Another dedicated Internet load balancing technology is an exciting new addition that is designed to offer all the existent features in enhanced format and in addition, it also offers the exclusive VPN Load Balancing functionality. The software makes optimum use of the embedded IPSEC support to access a mesh of VPN tunnels that can be established between two desired locations. This helps to effectively double the dedicated VPN bandwidth. It even helps to remain protected against the detrimental link failure, even in a situation where one single link collapses at each site. There is dedicated software that even offers in-built, additional ADSL ports. The connectivity: Internet load balancing software is also targeted at the Small to Medium Enterprises or SME. These enterprises are usually ones with around fifty to a hundred dedicated network users. The industry dedicated software offers a range of load balancing modes that can be effectively used to make the most of the bandwidth available at hand. It also offers the user specific multilink facility that can be used to connect and link up to sixteen Internet connections. This is achieved through any Ethernet presented medium. The special Internet load balancing technology is designed to constantly monitor the Internet links and in the case of a failure, it even 'failovers' to the other remaining and functional lines.
